On leaving school Andy joined Preston North End where he stayed for two years before moving on to Bury where he had a twelve months stint. Moved on to Morecambe for five years before joining Shrimps neighbours Lancaster City. Had a three month loan spell at Irongate during 2001-02 whilst at Giant Axe. Teamed up again with former Brig manager Tony Greenwood at Fleetwood Town for two years. Signed for Bamber Bridge prior to the 2004-05 campaign but left at the end of the season and returned to Highbury Avenue. Ryan-Zico Black (Forward) Born 00/00/1900 (-) Previous clubs: - Ryan-Zico Black was named after Brazilian legend Zico. He joined Morecambe and worked his way through to the first team, winning Northern Ireland international honours at under 18 and under 21 levels. He also represented Guernsey in the 2005 Island games. He made over 100 league appearances for Morecambe before being released to join Northwich Victoria during the 2003/04 season, before moving into the Irish League Premier Division with Glenavon in 2003-04. Later signed for Lancaster City. Joined Kettering Town as Paul Gascoigne’s first signing in late 2005 and was released in the summer of 2006, rejoining Lancaster City in July. Ryan became a victim of Lancaster's need to cut costs and joined Barrow in November 2006. Was released in May 2007. Despite reports suggesting Zico was going to Spain to try and continue his career there, he rejoined Lancaster City for his third spell in August 2007. Nicholas Bozonnet (Position) Born 00/00/1900 (-) Previous clubs: - Nicholas is the first Frenchman to play for Bamber Bridge. Started his football career as a youth team player with Angouleme who play in the Championnat de France 2, before moving to Cognac for a two year spell. Returned to Angouleme for two seasons before once again joining Cognac for a further two year spell. Played against Bamber Bridge for North West Counties League side Ashton Athletic in a pre-season friendly after moving to England but signed for the Irongate club at the start of the 2008-09 campaign. Stuart Howson (Defender) Born 00/00/1900 (-) Previous clubs: - Stuart began his football career at Blackburn Rovers. At 16 he was captain of the Lancashire team that won a national cup, and in the following year captained the Blackburn Rovers under 17 side. Moved on to Chesterfield at the start of the 2002-03 season and in total the defender made 55 appearances for the Spireites and scored three goals. Stuart left Chesterfield in July 2004 for Accrington Stanley but the move never worked out and he ended up leaving after playing just a handful of games. Spells at Droylsden and Lancaster City followed before Stuart signed for Barrow in January 2006, from where he joined Chorley. John Kennedy (Position) Born 00/00/1900 (-) Previous clubs: - Midfielder, John is a very experienced local footballer in both Lancashire and Cumbria, but actually began his football career over in the north east with Hartlepool United. On his release from Victoria Park John joined Fleetwood Town. He spent just one season at Highbury Avenue before the first of two spells with Kendal Town. John later played for Barrow, Morecambe, Lancaster City and Chorley. He was involved with the very successful Preston Sunday League side Arkwright’s. David McCann (Defender) Born 00/00/1900 (-) Previous clubs: - Big strong central defender who came through the ranks at Irongate. Was away at university for a few years before recommencing his football with Bamber Bridge. Made his Northern Premier League debut on the opening day of the 2003-04 season at Irongate against Kidsgrove Athletic in the First Division on the 16th August 2003. Spent the 2004-05 season with North West Counties League side Squires Gate where he captained the side towards the end of the season. Returned to Irongate at the start of the 2005-06 campaign. Left once again to become the assistant manager at North West Counties League side Atherton Collieries in 2006-07 before returning to Bamber Bridge for the start of the 2008-09 season. Jamie was with both Morecambe and Accrington Stanley before signing for Fleetwood Town at the start of the 2005-06 season. Lee Pyers (Defender) Born 00/00/1900 (-) Previous clubs: - Learned his football at Bolton Wanderers where he spent five years before moving on to Leigh RMI in 1999. After a season at Hilton Park Lee joined Bamber Bridge for the first of three spells with the Irongate club. Was very popular with the fans at the South Ribble club in his two year stay before moving on to Chorley for a season. Then joined Fleetwood Town where he won a North West Counties League First Division championship medal in 2004-05 and was voted as the supporters Player of the Year at Highbury Stadium. Neil Zarac (Forward) Born 05/09/1979 (-) Previous clubs: - In his second spell at Irongate. Neil started with Oldham Athletic as an apprentice in 1996 spending two years at Boundary Park before moving to the United States of America. He had a five year stint in the US playing for Mercer University before returning home and signing for Bamber Bridge in 2003-04. Made his Bamber Bridge debut at Farsley Celtic on the 20th December 2003 in the Northern Premier League President’s Cup. Did not stay long at Irongate and had short spells with both Great Harwood Town and Chorley before settling at Darwen in the North West Counties League, where he stayed for two seasons.
