Loyal fans of Bamber Bridge who watched Saturday's game against Mossley may have wished they'd done the Christmas shopping instead.
With 13 days to go before December 25, Tony Greenwood's team picked up two red cards, no goals and no points from this scappy game.
Starting with ths positives, Richie Allen made his debut for Brig but he was starved of service and probably wouldn't have scored if he was still playing now.
Mossley had a familiar face in goal - former Chorley shot-stopper Peter Mossley - but he didn't have much do with chances being few and far between.
An uneven playing surface didn't help and after 20 minutes Colin McAllister was cautioned for a foul. Chris Marlow joined him in the book just before half-time.
The only comfort for Brig was that Mossley, who have struggled at home this season in the league, looked equally toothless in front of goal.
The second period started like the first half finished - with a distinct lack of clear-cut chances.
Greenwood hauled off Jerome Watt and replaced him with Lennie Reid after 64 minutes but it became clear to onlookers that one goal would probably be enough.
With 15 minutes left on the clock, Brig were reduced to 10 men when Martin Moran was sent off for a foul on substitute Mike Fish.
It unsettled the visitors and Matt Kay took advantage to score the winner after 81 minutes.
It got even worse for Bamber Bridge when Marlow picked up a second yellow with two minutes left, although he looked unlucky.
