Tough Task Ahead At Garforth Town For Brig
Despite talk of financial meltdown Brig go to Cedar Lodge, the home of Garforth Town, on Saturday seeking their fourth consecutive win in the First Division North.
Recent league victories, at Mossley on the 4th October and home wins against Prescot Cables and Farsley over the past fortnight, has put Brig into a solid mid-table position.
The only injury worries for the trip to Garforth are Roberto Bonaminio, who sustained a calf injury in training on Tuesday, and striker John Cass, who continues to wrestle with a niggling knee problem. Other than these two players, Neil Crowe will have a full squad to select his team from.
Cedar Lodge has been a happy hunting ground for Brig in recent seasons and the team will be hoping that this particular record can be extended this term as the club attempts to keep in touch with the leading group in the division as we move ever closer to the festive season.
Off the field problems have not helped and the manager has appealed to all the clubs fans to rally behind the team whilst this troublesome period continues to bite.
The players have remained loyal to the cause and have remained united in their efforts to see the club through, despite having to play on with little or no remuneration.
Times are hard with diminishing attendances and little in the way of sponsorship monies coming into the clubs coffers. However, the fight for survival continues unabated.
